Makeup Review: MAC Venomous Villains Collecion
First off, I LOVE the idea of this collection! It is huge! You can click these photos to get a better look. I'm so in love with the Disney packaging...too cute :) There were a couple of items in particular that I really liked a lot, I ended up only purchasing 1 item from the collection and several other items just in general. Most of the colors were extremely similar in color to Mac products that I already have, but because I'm a sucker for good packaging (I know, sad), there are a few must haves that I should have grabbed while I was there.
I was enticed by the Maleficent and Dr. Facilier collection because the colors were so rich and exciting! The item I purchased was in the Maleficent line. It's the dual sided eyeshadow at the top to the far right. It's called "My Dark Magic". If I were to try and explain the color, I wouldn't do it any justice, so I swatched it below for you. It's a beautiful deep purple pinkish sparkly color. I'm going back for the shadow right next to it called "She Who Dares", which is a deep bluish green sparkly color.
I mean, you definitely owe it to yourself to at least just look! Make a day of it with your friends, mom, sister, or whoever! Take a trip to the Mac counter and look at all of these beautiful colors of this collection. I guarantee you will find at least one thing that you can't leave without!!

All About Hair: Length Check Time!
![]() |
| Blow dried and flat ironed |
I achieved the length it's at now by lots of protective styling and moisture, moisture and more moisture! Although I've been natural for about 10 years now, I wasn't always taking good care of my hair. I recently started taking better care of my hair and as a result, it is now growing! No secret miracle tonic, just the products I like to use and using them on a regular basis to maintain the moisture in my hair and lots of protective styles to keep from messing with it.
If you're on a hair health and growth journey, I'd love to see your photos and hear what you're doing to maintain your hair's health!!

Random Thoughts: So What, I Got A Tattoo!
![]() |
| taken while still at the tattoo shop...several more sessions to go! |
I've been wanting a very specific tattoo for 2 years now and I finally started getting pieces of it done. It is a cherry blossom tree which symbolizes strength, extreme beauty and quick death. The tree extends to my lower back along with lots of tree roots which also represent strength. Around my waist are a string of flowers that have fallen from the tree, because cherry blossom trees bloom for a very short period of time. The tattoo has significance to me and reminds me that life is indeed beautiful but that we are here for a short period of time.
Some people think that my tattoo is ridiculous or believe that it will look disgusting when I get older. Something I've learned as I've gotten older is that you have to do things for yourself that please you. Everyone will have an opinion on everything that you do in life, however, that opinion should never stop you from doing what it is that you want to do. As long as your actions don't hurt or harm yourself or another person, go for it! I say, get that haircut, that piercing, color your hair, take that trip, climb a mountain, change careers, go to school!!! Do whatever your little heart desires, because life is too short to do anything other than that! :)
Live, love, laugh and smile often :-)

Hairstyles: How To Curl Your Twists Or Braids
![]() |
| CURLS CURLS CURLS |
One of my favorite protective styles is twists. Sometimes I get kind of bored with them being straight so I change it up a bit by adding some curls! Read below to see how easy it is!
What you'll need:
-10 to 20 flexi-rod style rollers (I used a small rolller, the larger ones will give bigger curls)
-tea pot or saucepan
-tall thermal cup with handle
-2 towels(one for the floor and one for towel dry hair)
Using flexi-rod styled rollers, take 4 to 5 twists or braids and roll them spirally. I find it easier to start rolling from the ends. Next, boil some water. Once the water reaches boiling point, put it into your thermal cup. Next, dip 2 or 3 sections of your rolled hair into the cup for 5 to 10 seconds. Now, using a towel, take your hair out of the hot water and press any excess water with a towel. Keep another towel on the floor underneath you in case water drips on the floor.
The water has to be really hot in order for this to work, so after dipping a few rollers, you'll want to reboil the water and repeat this process until you are done. Keep the rollers in until they are completely cool or dry even. Once you take them out, you will have a head full of fun curls! If you get tired of your curls just dip your twists/braids into boiling water without rollers and your hair will revert to straight! MAGIC!!!! Enjoy!
Note: This will only work with synthetic twists/braids.

Makeup Tips: Getting The Most Out Of Your Makeup
I don't know about you, but if I spend $20 on a tube of lipstick, I want to use the ENTIRE tube of lipstick! What you do is buy a small spatula and some stackable makeup jars. I can't remember where I purchased my spatula from, but you can definitely Google "makeup spatula", however, I did get some very inexpensive makeup jars from MAC.
When you get to the end of the the tube, just use the spatula to scoop out the remaining product, pop it into one of the makeup jars and there you go! You can apply the lipstick with a brush, your fingers, or even use it as a blush and pop a little on the cheeks if the color is appropriate. This process works well for broken lipstick too!

Makeup Looks: Fun With Colore Eye Pencils
Hello ladies!!! It's been so long since I've posted. I hope everyone is well! I've missed you all! I want to apologize for not updating my blog. You know how life sometimes just happens and you're just not able to do the things that you love to do because you are swimming in things that you "have" to do! YUCK! Anyhow, I'm back and I intend of getting back into my regular postings!
Now, with that being said, I wanted to address a question I received from co-worker. She wanted to know what she could do to change up her everyday look of black eyeliner. She's a simple girl and doesn't like to spend a lot of time in the mornings on makeup. I told her to get some Wet N Wild colored eye pencils and have fun! All you have to do is line your eyes (top and bottom) with the colored pencil and then line over that with a black liquid or creme liner to give the color a little more definition. On the top pic I went for a darker brow and used the blue pencil and the bottom pic, I used a lighter brow with the green pencil.
Since the eye pencils are only $.99, you can buy every color and experiment with them and have fun!
