Whenever I pop into my local Walgreens or CVS, I always check to see if Sinful Colors has come out with any new colors. These 2 colors immediately caught my attention. They pale yellow color is "Unicorn" and the pale green is "Innocent". For $1.99 each, I couldn't pass them up! They had lots of other colors, which I'll probably go back and pick up, but until then, I'll just have fun with these!

Nail Colors: Fun Spring Time Nails
More Orange Baby!!: Hot Lip Color For The Summer
Although I've had this color for some time now, it's finally getting its much deserved 15 minutes of fame! Mac's Moorange is, and will be one of my fave lipstick colors. This is such a versatile color that will look good on any skintone! If it's a little to bright for you, don't worry! There are several ways to modify the color to fit your needs, and here are a few:
- Apply the lipstick and blot it heavily for a "lip stain" look.
- Mix it with a pale pink or a red lipstick to get a light or deep coral color
- Use a flesh toned lip liner to tone the color down a bit.
- Add a gold colored gloss to tone the orange down a bit and add some shine.
All About Hair: Tutorial For A Braided Mohawk
Give your Mohawk Some Style
My daughter allowed me use her head of hair for this tutorial. She's normally a very shy girl, so I lucked out! This hair style took us about 20 minutes to complete and the finished look came out really nicely! To start, make sure that you hair is detangled. It can be slightly damp if you choose. Leave the middle section of the hair out and french braid the sides of the hair toward the middle. Gather adjacent braids and secure them with pony tail holders or rubber bands. We used rubber bands. To prevent any breakage from the rubber bands, don't twist them too tight and when it's time to remove them, cut them out instead of pulling or trying to unravel them.
Last, just pin the hair up in a way that suits you best. I added a bit of moisturizer to her hair to get her curls defined and very tiny bit of get on the ends. This style can last for about 3 days if you wrap your hair up at night. For extra curl definition, you can braid your hair into 6 or 8 single braids at night. This will also help to keep your hair protected while sleeping. Just them take them out in the morning and you're ready to go!
If this is a little hard to follow, not to worry!!! We made a tutorial for you!
Nail Care: Fun Nail Colors No Matter The Season
Give Your Nails Some Flare
I love fun nail colors! I want to say that these are some great fall colors, but I would wear these Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. They look really cute on toes too! I ran across these at a store called, The Icing, while shopping in a local mall in my neck of the woods. The Icing is a small accessory mecca! They have jewelry, hats, bags, hair accessories, makeup and a few more must have necessities for us accessory fiends. Somehow I managed to leave out of the store with only a few nail polishes (I must have been ill). At any rate, they had tons of colors and various shades of each color. I picked up the ones in this picture, but as I am writing this, I feel an urge to go back to grab a few more!
I hope you have The Icing near you, because at $3 per bottle (buy one get one 1/2 off), these are an awesome buy!
Name of colors from left to right:
Gargoyle-matte grey
Lilly-light lavendar
Sunset-peachy orange
Chase Me-matte deep turquoise
Bad Romance-light brown.
*Tip: Sometimes matte nail polish can look dull. Add a clear top coat to give it some shine!
Fragrances: Favorite Designer Scents
Perfume Mania
There are a few things that I cannot and will not buy cheap and one of them is perfume. I lovvvvvvve designer fragrances. I try to treat myself every quarter with a new fragrance. These are a few of my go to favorites for now. In no particular order:
1. Donna Karan - Cashmere Mist
FRAGRANCE NOTES - fresh floral jasmine, sandalwood & vanilla.
2. Dolce & Gabbana - The One
FRAGRANCE NOTES - coriander, grapefruit, cardamom seed, tobacco, basil, cedar, amber, ginger, orange blossom.
3. Christian Dior - J'adore
FRAGRANCE NOTES - mandarin, champaca flowers, ivy, African orchid, rose, violet, damascus plu, amaranth wood and blackberry.
4. Channel - Coco Channel
FRAGRANCE NOTES - spicy and floral with notes of amber.
5. Vera Wang - Vera Wang (signature fragrance)
FRAGRANCE NOTES - mandarin, lotus and iris, exotic and feminine.
If you noticed, all the fragrances have a similar motif. I tend to gravitate toward soft flower scents that are a bit musky. I like my perfume very soft, subtle and feminine. In my opinion these types of scents can be worn day or night. What are some of your favorites?
Makeup Look: MAC Fabulous Felines-Burmese Beauty Palette
MAC for Brown Eyes
Green has a way of making brown, gray and blue eyes pop! This look is pretty versatile and can be worn either day or evening. You can make this look more intense by building the color or choosing a darker shade of a similar color. If you want a less intense look, just do the opposite.
For the eyes: I used the MAC-Burmese Beauty palette. I applied Skintone 1/3 of the way or my lid up to my crease. I also applied a little near the tear duct area and just at the corner of the inner lower lashline. To the middle of the lid, I applied Burmese Beauty up to the crease and out to the corner of the eyes. Next, I added Showstopper to the outer corner. I lined my water line with a black eyeliner and then lined by lower lashline with L'oreal color rich crayon Authentic(dark green). I used another cream crayon type crayon in a lighter green over Authentic for intensity. I lined my upper lashline in black, only at the corners with slight wing and added black mascara to my upper and lower lashes.
For the Cheeks: I used Milani Sunset Beach mineral powder blush(orange-peach). For the lips: I used MAC lipstick Shy Girl(nude pink) and MAC Viva Glam V Lipglass gloss(pinkish-tan).
You can re-create this look with varying shades of the colors I used, or you can use the same technique and try different colors! Remember, I only mention the name of the brand in case you want this exact color, otherwise, you can use whatever you have to get this look.
Fashion Fun: Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Roses Alma Please
(source)
I'll take that! This bag is so cute! It's a Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Roses Alma. I'm pretty sure this bag costs a little more that what I'm willing to spend (about $2,700), so what I sometimes do is see what top designers are doing and try to find something similar at a much lower price. Sometimes my hunt to find something similar leads me to find something completely opposite, and I end up creating my own look. That's the cool thing about fashion, you can interpret it however you want!
Hopefully this bag will miraculously appear on my doorstep, or as a gift on my birthday. Until it does, I will be on the lookout for a look-a-like (not to be confused with knock-off) bag!
